Google Cloud Ceo Thomas Kurian Says AI will Create Opportunities, Not Replace Tech Jobs
Google Cloud CEO, Mr. Thomas Kurian, recently stated that Artificial Intelligence is not going to replace humans; rather, it is meant to empower them. He further added that AI not only boosts human creativity, but it also creates new tech job opportunities around the world.
According to TechStory, Thomas Kurian stated that “The myth that AI is here to replace human workers is not just wrong, it is toxic. AI is actually a tool for amplification, not extinction.”
He further added that “The technology is intended to bridge the gap between what we can do today and what we can do with the right support.”
AI Is an Enabler, Not a Replacement
Kurian says that “AI is here to amplify human capability, not replace jobs.” Actually, AI tools are positioned between human skills, time limitations, and growing demands. Humans prepare the core task structures, observing practical nitty-gritty, and leave the calculated things to the AI.
The tools are not good at observations and also lack emotions. They definitely can’t replace the human mind.
For example, a human can create a better product description by considering himself a buyer. He can imagine the situation that might trigger the buyer to purchase that particular product.
However, the AI tool can’t think deeply; its primary focus is on creating ad copy using fixed formulas, rather than understanding user needs, pain points, and what can better convince them to buy the product.

Artificial Intelligence Is Empowering Instead Of Downsizing
According to Hindustan Times, Mr Thomas also added that “I think there is definitely a middle ground. AI should be seen as an enabler, not a replacement.”
If brands genuinely want to multiply their business ROI, they have to integrate AI into their business carefully. They need to make the entire business operation smooth and efficient. For that purpose, AI is a positive addition to this process.
AI tools now smoothly handle customer service and engagement. They are helping human agents respond faster and more accurately. Humans can automate repetitive tasks with strategic command and control of AI.
Kurian confirmed that AI adoption is enhancing service outcomes, and so far, none of Google Cloud’s clients have used AI to reduce the workforce.
Actually, AI is now offering creators more free time to focus on creative tasks and bring something extraordinary. It is equally helpful for both employees and companies, as both gain an edge in their business, with the latter benefiting from creativity and results.
A Middle Ground Between Fear and Hype
Kurian supports a balanced approach between AI and the human workforce. He wants the elimination of blind optimism and panic. It will be better for consistent business growth along with fair outcomes. However, Kurian also warns against the overhype of AI. The claim that AI can solve everything with its extraordinary capabilities and will replace human labour is just a myth.
AI is a pre-fed data system, and a single or even minor fault can compel it to work against its intended purpose. AI tools will always need human supervision. They can’t be left unmonitored when handling a high-stakes business.
Both the approach and expectations from AI should be realistic. Also, its engagement in businesses should be practical and ethical to prevent any possible loss.
The Future of Work Is Human-Centric
It’s a fact that AI can’t replace human capabilities for creative tasks. However, the routine and repetitive tasks can be handed over to AI tools under human control and supervision. AI never adopts human empathy, judgment, or interpersonal skills, nor does it replace roles that involve these skills.
There is a high need to reskill and upskill the human workforce so that they can work smoothly in AI collaboration. Human acumen will remain critical regardless of how much AI evolves.
